Writer and painter, I am a tenured faculty member of the Fine Arts department and Journalism department of the Florence University of the Arts – The American University of Florence, Italy.
My fiction writing focuses on the quest for identity and individuality. My essays explore the nature of creativity.
My paintings dig into my inner world as shaped by the toilsome interplay of thoughts, feelings, emotions, and memories.
The key verb for both my written and painted work is "transforming."
A classicist by education, I am committed to nurturing a dialogue between heritages of the past, and present cultural challenges, especially in the fields of visual arts and aesthetic thinking.
I studied Classics (Undergraduate School, Graduate School, Post-Doctoral Fellowships) at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, Italy.
I did research at European Universities (Paris, École Normale Supérieure and École Pratique des Hautes Études; Tübingen University), as well as Princeton University in the U.S.
My paintings are in private collections in Europe and in the U.S.
My painted work is represented by Immaginaria Arti Visive Gallery – Florence, Italy.
